Verification is a compliance-based approval process designed to ensure all partners meet defined environmental, operational, and ethical standards aligned with regenerative tourism and conservation outcomes.

Verification is mandatory for any organisation seeking formal association, referral, listing, collaboration, or joint project delivery with E‑Ko and associated initiatives, including Sounds Enhancement.

This process applies to:

• Tourism operators and service providers
• Conservation, research, and academic institutions
• Technology, monitoring, and data partners
• Training and education providers
• Strategic collaborators and funders

Organisations unwilling or unable to meet minimum compliance requirements should not apply.

Verified Partner status confirms that an organisation:

• Operates lawfully and transparently
• Meets defined environmental and operational standards
• Aligns with regenerative tourism and conservation principles
• Accepts accountability through reporting and review
• Agrees to uphold E‑Ko brand, safety, and ethical requirements

Verification is not a marketing endorsement. It is an operational and governance commitment.

Baseline compliance approval.

• Legal operation confirmed
• Core documentation provided
• Environmental policy or operational statement in place
• Partner Agreement and Code of Conduct executed

Active contribution beyond baseline compliance.

• Demonstrated conservation or education contribution
• Staff training or certification where relevant
• Data sharing, monitoring, or reporting participation
• Evidence of local community or iwi engagement

Long-term or high-impact collaboration.

• Joint projects, research, or funding initiatives
• Technology or innovation deployment
• Ongoing data contribution or analysis
• Co-developed programmes or infrastructure

Partner level is assigned by E‑Ko following assessment and may be reviewed or amended over time.

• Business registration details
• Proof of relevant licences, permits, or certifications
• Insurance documentation
• Environmental policy or operational statement
• Health & Safety framework (where applicable)

• Wildlife interaction or disturbance protocols
• Research ethics approvals
• Data governance and ownership statements
• Staff qualification and competency records
• Sustainability or emissions reporting

Failure to provide accurate or complete information will result in application rejection or delay.

Partners must demonstrate alignment with:

• Regenerative tourism principles (beyond sustainability)
• Protection of local ecosystems and species
• Wildlife-safe and low-impact operations
• Responsible fuel, waste, and emissions management
• Education, awareness, or knowledge-sharing activities

Alignment may reference recognised frameworks including:

• Qualmark Enviro or equivalent
• Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC)
• New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy
• Relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

   Partner Agreement and Code of Conduct signed
6. Activation
   Partner status confirmed and listings or collaborations activated where applicable

Verified Partners are required to:

• Maintain compliance with all stated requirements
• Notify E‑Ko of material operational or organisational changes
• Participate in reviews or audits if requested
• Provide agreed reporting or impact data
• Uphold E‑Ko brand, safety, and conduct standards

Non-compliance may result in suspension, downgrade, or removal of partner status.

Organisations seeking Partner Verification must submit an application for assessment.
